Shakespeare in the Garden - The Tempest

SOAK UP SOME SHAKESPEARE IN THE GARDEN WITH FULLER'S.

After a somewhat disrupted summer, the show must go on! Open Bar are back with "The Tempest” - a tale of betrayal, love, forgiveness and magic.

Experience Shakespeare as it was intended - informal, raucous and in a spacious pub garden with a drink in hand. Whether this will be your first, or thirty-first night of Shakespeare, you will not be disappointed.

The Tempest

Total isolation, a hostile environment, divisions in the royal family...these are things that are hard to imagine in 2020, but Prospero is all too familiar with them.

He is a former duke, exiled on a virtually uninhabited island in the middle of the Mediterranean for twelve years. Fortunately, all his enemies are about to sail past so he conjures a storm, wrecks their ship and leaves them separated all over his new home so he can regain his dukedom and his freedom.

It's not the greatest plan, but it's all he's got…and it all has to comply with social distancing measures!

Will he get everything he desires? Will he figure out what “one-metre plus” means? And will we all get the happy ending we so desperately need this year?

To ensure that customers enjoy Fuller’s Shakespeare in the Garden safely, we are following government guidelines for outdoor theatre. To help us seat you safely, tickets can be bought in groups. Tickets are priced at £18 per person and sold in various group sizes depending on capacity.
Groups of six or fewer may sit together outdoors, regardless of household. Groups of more than six people may sit together outdoors, but must be from two households only. Contact us for more details or if you have any further questions.

Each session costs £5. Lyric sheets are provided and Carl will teach 3 or 4 songs throughout the evening.

With his expert direction, you will also learn the basics of good singing technique, as well as have the chance to sing in 2 or 3 part harmony.

Towards the end of the evening, a live recording is taken to share with your friends, family and the rest of the world!

If you have some musical ability, you can view music for each session on the member's page a few days before each session - your musical skills will be most welcome to support the rest of the group.
